Expirimenting with combining drawing and photography. Not sure if this is a final, or just a test, but for now here’s where it stands.
Although the eyes definitely show thru the most, the rest of the photograph is present below the drawing and provides the majority of the color.
Best to view this large for details.

Yesterday a friend of mine who’s putting on a production of Hedda Gabler called me around 7:30 saying that the photographer who was scheduled to shoot their promotional photo at 8 wasn’t answering their phone. So I agreed to fill in. We met at the location, shot for 15 minutes or so, and this is what happened.
The final image was created using 2 lamps in the room.

Tell me, have you ever seen a clown contact juggling while walking on a tight rope that was attached to hooks going through the backs of four other men?
No?
Well then where the hell were you on Saturday night?

So today turned out to be a fairly ridiculous day, as I kind of anticipated since I knew I’d be shooting the Detroit based band Downtown Brown.
After a pretty silly journey to Kensington Park (which included the dismantling of a gas pump and putting out a fire that was burning in a trash can inside the van) we started digging a hole in the still-wet beach. Of course though, it wasn’t long until our presence was noticed by park security. Luckily though, after explaining that we weren’t planning on ruining the beach, they let us get back to work. Once the hole was big enough to fit all three guys the excess dirt was shoveled onto them and I began setting up my lights.
However….. while rushing to get everything in place, I made the stupid mistake of plugging in a light while the battery was on, which shorted out my Vagabond II and it started smoking….
So, left with no other option, I was forced to shoot this image with only available light. Luckily though, it was a pretty nice day (above ground) and the band was positioned in a way that everything worked out fine.
What do you think?
